President Obama nominated Solicitor General Elena Kagan to replace retiring Justice John Paul Stevens as an Associate Justice on the U. S. Supreme Court.

With over 15 million Americans out of work, we need a comprehensive bill that extends unemployment insurance benefits, COBRA subsidies, Medicaid funding, and the TANF Emergency Fund.

Because many of you stood up for health care reform that works for women, we have taken a historic step toward ending insurance industry practices that discriminate against women every day.

The wage gap has tremendous economic consequences for women. Now is the time for Congress to address wage discrimination and pass the Paycheck Fairness Act.
